Privacy

Favorites and recent cities stay in your browser’s local storage. Clear site data to remove them. Geolocation is optional and is requested only when you press the location button. Coordinates are rounded to two decimal places in the browser, then sent to our backend and weather providers. They are not stored in a user profile.

Forecast caching uses rounded coordinates. Server-side aggregate statistics count HTML page requests and classify bots. Visitor statistics store no full IP addresses, user-agent strings, query strings or visitor identifiers and set no tracking cookies. Detail counters are retained for 400 days; aggregate lifetime totals remain. Administrator login uses a session cookie, salted password hashes and security audit records retained for 180 days, including hashed network identifiers for failed logins. Hosting providers may independently retain access logs.

Provider requests go through our server. Third-party provider privacy policies apply to the server-to-provider traffic. Set an actual project privacy contact and deployment-specific retention policy before launch.
